Barbara is a member of the financial planning team at Kooman & Associates, and is focused on empowering women around issues regarding money and relationships.

As a licensed financial advisor with Raymond James, she has participated in the Raymond James Women's Symposium, offered exclusively for women financial advisors to focus on solutions for and around the financial and life issues that specifically impact women. Barbara is available as a presenter to women's groups on financial topics.

Barbara began at Kooman & Associates, as a marketing specialist, creating client communication tools, educational newsletters, client workshops and special events. She handles marketing and community relations for the firm as well.

Barbara has worked in the media is several capacities including radio and TV news as a reporter, anchor and news director. She is a certified Dale Carnegie Instructor. She has served on two City of Altoona Study Commissions; first as the Chairman to exlore options for the form of city government, and more recently, to determine if the city should sell it's public water system. Both panel recommendations were implemented by city government.

Barbara currently serves on the Blair County Chamber’s WE-LEAD Committee focusing on women's professional development, and is a past board member on the Independent Foundation for the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese. She is a graduate of Penn State University, and holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses.
